We raised £600 for Parkinson’s UK

November 12, 2019

On Sunday 20th October, I organised a charity fun run in aid of Parkinson’s UK. It was a fantastic event with over 40 people taking part. We raised £600 which is just amazing! It was a pleasure to host such an event at our gym.

We had all ages taking part and even dogs were allowed. The course started at the gym and subsequently went through Wighill Park. The total distance was 4k and afterwards we all enjoyed coffee and cake in the gym.

I had a real sense of pride in organising the event and it was quite moving with the response we had from all my gym members. It just shows how people come together for a cause and really put their heart and soul into something. Several of my personal training clients baked homemade cakes and there was a real sense of a community feel in the gym.

A client of mine called Andrew is an ambassador for Parkinsons UK. He unfortunately suffers from Parkinson’s but has made amazing strides in the gym with his strength and conditioning whilst adhering to my principles on functional fitness. He follows a bespoke programme which is tailor made to him and his goals and he is really seeing the benefits.

I would like to thank Andrew for all his hard work and determination not only in the gym but also helping to organise this event with me.

I cannot wait for our next charity event. Massive thanks to everyone who took part in the event at the fitness studio.
